Project Overview

I am currently carrying out an MSci project involving the differential gene expression of anadromous Atlantic salmon before and after the undergoing smoltification (a series of morphological and endocrinological changes that allow the salmon to migrate from fresh water to salt water). To carry this out I am comparing the transcriptome of Atlantic salmon specimens (Annotated with the modern Atlantic salmon genome build) at both the parr and smolt stages of there life cycle. This is being done through the use of Microarray and RNA sequencing technologies.
