Project Overview

I am interested in understanding the roles of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNA) and their interactions with mRNAs in different biological systems. My project aims to develop a lncRNA mapping tool which is capable of extracting specific lncRNAs of interest from lncRNA-mRNA networks and identifying similarities between extracted lncRNAs based on commonly regulated mRNAs. Through this, we aim to uncover novel interactions between differentially expressed lncRNA from independent families in regulating target mRNAs. Unravelling these interactions has the potential to provide insight into disease and advise future therapies.
