Project Overview

I have a great interest in Cancer Biology, it is an area that will affect all of us at some point in our lives whether through a family member or ourselves. My research project is titled ‘Fusion Genes in Prostate Cancer’ and aims to explore the impact that chromosomal rearrangements in the form of fusion genes have on incidences of prostate cancer. This project will also look at the differences in incidence rate of prostate cancer between Black and White men and search to see why there are differences occurring and what role fusion genes have in these.
